The Casual Coffee Connoisseur is the joint effort between CJ and Cody, one couple who loves coffee and is located in St. Paul (we’ll return to you soon, Minneapolis, we promise). We want this blog to be an accessible and helpful resource for the coffee lover, as well as the causal coffee consumer. Noticing a severe lack of blogs and reviews geared specifically toward to Twin Cities coffee scene, we wanted to give voice to the roasters, coffee shops, and baristas of Minneapolis-St. Paul area. We hope, however, to bring the readers reviews exploring the coffee, design, and culture of the coffee scene here, in Minnesota, and beyond. We support those pushing the bounds of quality coffee and creative design to continually inspire our appreciation of coffee.

A note on our bias: Upon reviewing coffee shops we will likely prefer thosethat are independently owned and source their beans from local roasters. Currently we have been buying all our beans from Flamenco Coffee Roasters, in Northeast Minneapolis, but we may branch out to other roasters… we’ll try anyway.
