Ethiopia Yirgacheffe & Dominican Republic – Flamenco Organic Coffee Co.

So Cody and I have neglected our blog duty to all of you, and for this we apologize. However, we have not slowed our exploration of new and notable coffee. We have quite a few to report out, so without further ado, we give you Flamenco’s Yirgacheffe and Dominican.

Yirgacheffe

Yirgacheffe

Light bodied and acidic. Bright yet well-balanced and perfect as an early or mid-morning coffee. We brewed this one using our Chemex as well as our V60. Both were well balanced and smooth but we both preferred the Chemex.

Dominican

Dominican Republic

The Dominican is a direct trade organic peaberry, which is a notable quality in the coffee community. Light-bodied and bright, this coffee was not as well-balanced as the Yirgacheffe, but in a great way. High citrus notes, such as grapefruit and lemon were pleasantly offset by subtle floral elements. Another great morning Chemex.

Cody and I really enjoyed both of these. If you have a chance we highly recommend the Yirgacheffe.

Enjoy.
