Flores Bajawa – Flamenco Organic Coffee Co.

Today was a perfect Sunday morning. We had the usual whole wheat oatmeal pancakes for breakfast, walked the dogs around the neighborhood, and buried our noses in the books (well Cody did). But the perfection did not arrive until our mid-morning coffee.

We are finishing the last of our Fully Washed, Flores Bajawa, single origin, dark vienna roast from Flamenco Organic Coffee Co. We have brewed this coffee using french press, pour over, and brew bar methods (and a few times as an emergency espresso), leading us to believe this is an all around impressive coffee. The powerful start to this coffee trends to the more mellow flavors of chocolate and anise giving it a smooth journey to a caramel finish.

Flamenco Organic Coffee Co. is currently our favorite roaster. Located within a warehouse at 1901 Traffic Street NE in Minneapolis, Flamenco roasts in small batches to allow for more detailed control of the roast. Although many of the organic coffees supplied are Fair Trade certified, Rainforest Alliance participants, and involved with Cafe Femenino, a program committed to the social justice of women involved with coffee production, the focus is providing the best coffee you have ever had.

Every time we venture into the warehouse, the experience is beyond fantastic. The roasters are very knowledgeable and more than willing to share their knowledge with us to match our tastes and brewing methods for the perfect cup. We have tried several different Flamenco coffees and have only been impressed. If you are ever around the Como neighborhood, be sure to stop by and check out Flamenco Organic Coffee Co.
